It’s only the first week of school, but do you feel it? Papers, phone calls, parties, midterms, mothers, mistakes, boyfriends, girlfriends, bi-friends, friendships, roommates, mixing, working, charging, paying bills, rushing, Facebook, religion, drugs, dads, exercising, identifying, judging, applying, sleeping, eating and… living. It’s a lot.

When I first heard about UCSB’s plan to expand campus housing for graduate students, I thought it to be a positive step forward for our community. Then I looked at the numbers for the San Clemente Villages and quickly became disappointed with the new housing option.
With the spring quickly coming to an end, our infamously long Monday Financial Board meetings are no more. Nevertheless, we worked hard; consequently, programs we funded are still being put on by students for students. This makes students’ experiences golden here at UCSB.
Yes, it’s that time. This is my last Nifty News ever. I have no idea what to do with myself.
So this is it – my last piece for the Nexus as your resident whiny Englishman. And as always, I’m going to be honest with you: As much as I love my country, I do not want to go back home.
If I could pick up a strong wireless signal anywhere in the world, I would be a happy camper. I think it’s a bit disgraceful that there isn’t more Wi-Fi available on campus.
There are about a hundred drivers that will pick your drunk ass up from State Street and get you safely home any day, any time. From the cab companies to Bill’s Bus, we in Santa Barbara are spoiled with a plethora of DD’s who can take us home so we can avoid that DUI.

To the four of you reading this; thank you for taking time out to look at my drivel. Changing up my usual humorous take on American life, I feel I have to play a serious note this week by addressing something that has been bothering me for quite some time. I am talking about the homeless in Santa Barbara and, moreover, in America as a whole.
Um, you guys, I have some really bad news. I didn’t win hottest college girl 2008. Damn it!
Whoever came up with the phrase, “One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor,” knew what he/she was talking about. Tequila is an evil alcoholic beverage and can get the best of you if you’re not careful. I had a tequila disaster about six years ago and have only recently been able to stomach it again in the form of margaritas, which go perfectly with the warm weekends. Who doesn’t like a refreshing margarita on a hot day? Saturday was that perfect day.
