Both Sides Pray for Peace

Friday, November 20, 2009

Alumnus Alarmed by News of ESS Closure

Friday, November 20, 2009

As a graduate of the Sports Management program, I was shocked and saddened when informed of the impending closure of the Exercise & Sport Studies Dept. Friday, November 20, 2009

According to the University of California Web site, the 10 schools in the system are supposed to do three things, and their order matters. First: “We teach.†Second: “We do research.†And third: “We provide public service.†However, UCSB is not in line with this mission, as evidenced by its irrational cutting of the Exercise and Sport Studies program.

Get Your Health Info From Smart Sources

Thursday, November 19, 2009

When researching the Internet for health information, look at research based Web sites managed by the government or a legitimate institution. Bring questions and concerns to your primary care provider. Otherwise, you may fall into the trap of cyberchondria -- using Internet "health" sites to fuel health anxiety.
