The PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. As we prepare ourselves for this onslaught, I wanted to sit back and reflect on a couple of unanswered questions in the world of videogames. In a severe case of dŽjˆ vu, the #27 UCSB men's soccer team hosts #30 San Diego State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament this Saturday at Harder Stadium. It will be the Aztec's (9-5-4 overall) second trip to Santa Barbara (12-7 overall) this season after falling 1-0 to the Gauchos on a goal by freshman striker Bongomin Otii back on Sept. 2. UCSB also knocked off SDSU 2-0 in the first round of last season's NCAA tournament.

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, musical innovator Lou Reed played to a packed crowd in UCSB's Campbell Hall as part of his most recent tour. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Reed first stepped into the spotlight as the guitarist and singer-songwriter of the seminal sixties and seventies band, The Velvet Underground. Now years into his solo career, Reed graced our stage, singing with such a deep, quiet conviction that one could practically see audience members straining their ears to hear better.
