Triple Rooms Multiply in Dorms

Three is company - or a crowd - this year as increased freshmen admission rates have lead to an increase in triple dorm rooms. According to the UCSB Housing and Residential Services website, in a normal year, UCSB’s eight residence halls have the capacity to house 4,700 freshmen. However, Pam Cort, manager of Residence Halls Assignment Services, said that this year the university has made room to house 180 more freshmen by creating 180 triple-occupancy rooms.
