The Associated Students election season has ended with a near split down party lines for the executive officers, but a near landslide victory for Students' Party Legislative Council candidates. Open People's Party candidate Felix Hu won the position of Internal Vice President, SP candidate Bill Shiebler won the position of External Vice President of Statewide Affairs, and SP candidate Joel Rodriguez-Flores won the position of External Vice President of Local Affairs.

It seems that our favorite "longtime Isla Vista resident" is now angry with protesters who choose to wave flags other than American flags at immigrant rights rallies. Is there any right-wing bandwagon he won't jump on? The problem with Mr. Sarria's editorial ("Wave the U.S. Flag, Not Mexico's," Daily Nexus, April 26) is not his objection to the use of other flags, his expression of his opinion or the sharing of his story.

As a child, I was taught proper gun safety. To this day, I can still remember this animated eagle telling me to never touch a gun and, if I saw one, to immediately notify an adult. My dad used to take me to gun shows, which, despite popular assumption, entailed more than just a bunch of right-wing, gun-totin' rednecks showing off their latest forms of weaponry.
