Nearly 100 queers and allies came out yesterday afternoon to the National Coming Out Day rally in Storke Plaza to support each other's identities. Speakers at the rally talked about such issues as queer identity, stereotyping and the recent debate over whether U.S. military recruiters should be allowed on campus.

As the Nov. 8 special election draws near, many incumbent California politicians fear their re-elections may be at risk due to the impact of Proposition 77. Prop 77 aims to eliminate politicians' power of redistricting and transfer the authority to a bipartisan panel of judges, thus restoring a new sense of fairness to the California legislature.

This is in response to "Learning Disabled Find Clarity Through Project Eye-to-Eye" (Daily Nexus, Oct. 10) by Jeff Slovak. I applaud him for opening up about his learning disability, LD/ADHD and for sharing information about Project Eye-to-Eye. It seems too rare to read a column in the Daily Nexus about disabilities.

Although it is still early in the UCSB women's club soccer season, one statistic stands out in addition to its impressive undefeated record. In just four games, the Gauchos have outscored opponents 26-0.

Anyone who thinks that the only good players in Santa Barbara can be found on the Division I UCSB men's soccer team should think again. The UCSB men's club soccer team is tearing up the turf again this season, currently ranked #7 in the region.
