T.V. Junkie Finds Her Niche

Monday, October 10, 2005

I have a tendency to categorize people. Sometimes just in my head during a lull in lecture, occasionally in a forum that has a readership of over 20,000 people.

Professor's Passion Moves All-in

Monday, October 10, 2005

Sometimes you just have to play a game. It was about 9 a.m. the day of my preliminary Ph.D. oral examination. I had been studying for months and was over-prepared. I hadn't been able to sleep for a few nights and was sick to my stomach with nerves. I couldn't eat. The oral exam wasn't until 4 p.m. that day, seven tortuous hours away.

Learning Disabled Find Clarity Through Project Eye-to-Eye

Monday, October 10, 2005

In the seventh grade, I was that kid. I got suspended for setting off stink bombs, shooting spitwads, cussing at teachers, climbing on the roof of the school during lunch, shooting staples at the teacher's pets and lots of fighting. I knew the janitor and the vice principal better than I knew my own teachers because I would spend most of my time being disciplined in the hallway or the school office.

Leg Council's Allocation to Opposition Campaign is B.S.

Monday, October 10, 2005

Apparently, everything at UCSB is now perfect. From the recent actions of A.S., one would think that the Broida bike path is completed, the student groups have all the money they could ever want and it looks like we can expect bands like the Rolling Stones to appear in Storke Plaza at noon instead of mediocre local cover bands.

A.S. Resolution on Prop 76 Gives Students Louder Voice

Monday, October 10, 2005

Let's conduct a quick survey. How many of you students want to pay more in taxes to enhance programs like social security and welfare? A few hands, I see, but not all. Okay, now how many students out there would like to see University funding, resources and the quality of our education decrease substantially, all while increasing student fees and the overall cost of attendance? What, no takers? Not even one?

You Got Beef?

Monday, October 10, 2005

Here's my beef with beef: After I finish my Freebird's steak burrito, I have to wedge chunks of brown out of my teeth with a straw. If I don't get it out, I inevitably end up performing oral exercises on the significant otherhuman and I can't tell what is what.
