Anyone who has stepped on campus recently must have noticed the insane amount of construction in progress. Everywhere you turn, there's another gigantic hole in the ground, or the steel skeleton of some building-to-be. Apparently, winning a few of those Nobel Prizes means we get some extra cash in the bank.

The #10 UCSB men's soccer team faced two non-conference opponents this weekend, defeating Alabama A&M 3-1 and falling to Loyola Marymount 2-1.

Even without their top runners, the UCSB women's cross country team apparently has what it takes to rule the Big West. The team finished fifth out of 33 teams at the Stanford Invitational Saturday, ahead of Big West rivals Irvine and Long Beach State. Senior Seanna Martin paced the Gauchos, finishing 20th in the 6,000-meter race with a time of 22:24.

The UCSB men's cross country team answered several questions at the Stanford Invitational this weekend. With its full team racing for the first time this season, Saturday's race in Palo Alto, Calif. was a good indicator of the team's progress thus far, as well as a first look at the team's potential.

The weatherhuman, despite some suspicions, is ultimately human. It is capable of triumphant glee, yet sorrow is also one of its fundamental faculties. The weatherhuman and its co-workers are terribly saddened by the tragedy that took place this weekend above Dog Shit Park. It fits all the requirements of senselessness.
