The Gauchos need a New Year's resolution fast. The UCSB men's basketball team squandered a late six-point second-half lead against Utah State on Thursday night in the Thunderdome, dropping the game 74-67 and falling to one for two in the Big West standings.

Santa Barbara Disposes of Utah State

Entering Thursday's game against Santa Barbara, Utah State hoped they would mount a competitive effort against the eight consecutive Big West champs. Their mission failed. The UCSB women's basketball team dominated the Aggies throughout much of the night and defeated Utah State 86-51 at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
