Officers Seize Drugs in Raids

Two Santa Barbara County drug busts last week netted a variety of weapons and illicit drugs, as well as four arrests. Investigators also discovered and seized $8,000 in cash as well as scales and an inventory of amounts owed for marijuana.


War Protesters Reunite, Renew Hopes for Peace

A year and a war later, protesters reunited to pledge their dedication to peace. An estimated 300 protesters met in Veracruz Park on Saturday for a reunion march commemorating the peace marches that began taking place regularly in downtown Santa Barbara last September.

It is now official. The UCSB women's soccer team is battle-tested. The team survived an arduous preseason schedule, with the Gauchos tying University of San Diego 1-1 on Sunday at Harder Stadium and defeating Fullerton 3-0 at Cal State Fullerton Stadium on Friday.

The Gauchos hosted their home opener Friday against Riverside, and then Saturday played host to Cal State Fullerton, after starting their season with eight very tough nonleague matches and nine consecutive matches away from the cozy confines of the Thunderdome.
