In baseball terms, the UCSB men's tennis team showed Big West foe Riverside the meaning of perfection, facing seven Highlanders and sitting seven down. The #74 Gauchos swept the Highlanders 7-0 on Saturday at UCSB's RecCen Courts to continue a two-match string of impressive outings.

The UCSB men's and women's track and field teams finished in the middle of the pack over the weekend at the Cal-Nevada Championships in San Diego.The men's team finished 10th, totaling 23 points, and the women finished in 13th place with 23 points.

Senior netter Carlos Palencia and the UCSB men's tennis team defeated Riverside 7-0 on the RecCen Courts on Saturday to improve to 10-8 in 2003. Sunday's match against San Diego State was rained out and will likely not be rescheduled, according to UCSB Head Coach Marty Davis.
