Living Without Vowels: In All the Wrong Places

Thursday, February 13, 2003

Fuzzy things are ever so charming. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone with a flaming hatred for bunnies or kittens. Many folks even take to stroking a full lint trap with tender care and adoration when no one else is looking.

Thursday, February 13, 2003

I happen to agree with Henry Sarria that, from an American perspective, the stereotypical French person is both arrogant and hypocritical. But let's talk about these two characteristics for a moment.

Column Misses the Mark on Moore's Intention

Thursday, February 13, 2003

It's interesting to me that he would see the film as an attempt to "engender" mass appeal for the gun control movement. What struck me most about "Bowling for Columbine" was the complete absence of the subject.

Feeding the Homeless Takes a Whole Lot More Than Food

Thursday, February 13, 2003

It is a beautiful thing to feed people who otherwise would be dumpster-diving or simply going without in the morning. It is also a beautiful thing to build community by bringing different people together when everything else seems to be bringing us apart.

Working With Wonka

Thursday, February 13, 2003

Talking to Mel Stuart is like chancing upon the grandpa you always wished you had. That is, if your grandpa had directed one of the most imaginative and highly whacked out films ever made, "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory."

Movie Review

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days | Forget This Movie in 10 Days

Thursday, February 13, 2003

How to lose a guy in 10 days. Hmmm...more like how to be a raving lunatic, but - granted you look like Kate Hudson and put tampons in your man's closet - totally get away with it. Does she lose the guy in 10 days?

There's the kind of music that instantly draws one in. Immediately, you're an uberfan who plays the album on repeat until a roommate threatens to annihilate your sound system. Then there's music that sneaks up on you.
