Students Need a Greener Place to Play

Thursday, February 6, 2003

Of course, I am speaking of the ducks that used to call Storke Plaza reflecting pool home. The pool, once a shimmering image of Storke Tower and blue sky, vanished around September and left in its place a large, ugly pit that serves no other purpose other than to expand the Nexus Frisbee practice area.

Failure to Recruit

Thursday, February 6, 2003

Where have all the average films gone, a long time passing? Where have all the B movies gone, a long time ago? They've gone to the shelves of the local video store, every one, there to be rented one night when bored with nothing better to do.

CD Review

Various Artists | Morvern Callar | Warp Records

Thursday, February 6, 2003

Warp Records may have taken a gamble by releasing a soundtrack to a movie most people won't see, but "Morvern Callar" will be known for this very soundtrack alone. The film is not at all about broken condoms and dirty needles, though one might be fooled upon first listen.

CD Review

Johnny Marr + The Healers | Boomslang | BMG

Thursday, February 6, 2003

Johnny Marr was in The Smiths, or, more accurately, that well-dressed band from the '80s fronted by Morrissey. Although never in the limelight after The Smiths dissolved, Marr has played an active role in many groundbreaking British bands such as Electronic and The Thef.
