Santa Barbara residents and tourists saw Stearns Wharf engulfed in smoke and flames Saturday afternoon for the fifth time since its construction.
Broken Water Line Leaves UCSB Wet

An underground water line broke Saturday evening, flooding a large area on campus between South Hall and the Music Building. The cause of the break is unknown, and maintenance personnel do not expect to find any major damage.
Student Accused of Assault With Syringe

A UC San Diego student was arrested Saturday morning, and accused of stabbing women with a syringe and injecting them with a tranquilizer in three separate attacks, including two in Santa Barbara.

As of 12:01 a.m. today, candidates in the April 23-24 campuswide general elections are allowed to start campaigning, but there are limitations as to where and how large the signs can be, and the Associated Students Elections Committee will be enforcing those rules.
