Drink Like a Local in Dublin

Friday, November 6, 2009

I've been in Dublin for over a month now (the only way I've kept track is that I've used up my 30-day bus pass), and I figured I'd give you all in the States an update on my adventures in Ireland. First off, "How's the crack?"

Labels Distort True Political Ideologies

Friday, November 6, 2009

Jeffery Robin's article, "Radical Conservative Challenges Parties' Adherence to Status Quo" (Daily Nexus, Nov. 4, 2009), delivers an important point: "Conservatives" such as Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and John Boehner do not actually adhere to traditional conservative principles. UCSB Advances to BW Final

Friday, November 6, 2009

With seven minutes left in regulation, sophomore forward Katy Roby's goal -- which put #3 seeded UCSB up 2-0 -- seemed like the icing on the cake. Thirty seconds later, it became all too necessary. Junior forward Farryn Townley finally got the better of junior keeper Tammy Lenham with a quick strike from point blank range to cut the deficit back to one, but ultimately #2 seeded Cal State Northridge couldn't muster an equalizer and thus fell again to the visiting Gauchos, this time 2-1 in yesterday's Big West Tournament Semifinal at Matador Field. With the win, Santa Barbara advances to the conference final at Cal Poly, with an auto-NCAA Tournament bid on the line.

Friday, November 6, 2009

The #9 UCSB men's water polo team has another opportunity to earn its first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation win this weekend as it hosts the #2 Cal Bears on Saturday and then the #13 Pacific Tigers on Sunday. Fortunately for the Gauchos (10-10 overall, 0-3 in MPSF), they have the home pool advantage, which tends to be disastrous for visiting teams.

Fuck You, Parents. Fuck You.

Friday, November 6, 2009

Do you want the good news or the bad news? The bad news is that this weekend, our favorite mini non-city is going to be crawling with people who don't belong here and who make me very, very uncomfortable, namely: parents.
